  • KBO:  Overused rookie pitchers join top pro league with damaged arms;  Yonhap

    The findings showed that the 41 pitchers threw an average of 127 pitches per game in their final year in school, well above the 106 pitches recommended by the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI).  Two of the pitchers tossed more than 200 pitches in a game, and 14 pitchers threw more than 150 pitches.  According to the study, 27 pitchers admitted that they have pitched through pain.
